Wednesday – April 17 Thatcher's funeral The London funeral of Margaret Thatcher, the former UK prime minister who died last Monday, takes place at St Paul's Cathedral. Thatcher, who will be commemorated with full military honours, led the UK from 1979 to 1990 and was considered by some to be the most important peacetime British prime minister since the 19th century.
